Dean Kovács opened Block Mark Co. in 2014 after a decade of street-shop apprenticeships across the boroughs. He works American traditional, heavy blackwork, and lettering — the styles that age well and read clean from across the room.

The philosophy is old-school on purpose: solid line, saturated black, no trend-chasing. He'd rather talk you out of a bad idea than tattoo it. You bring references and intent; he draws it and puts it on straight.
